Our school librarian, Nush Mootoosamy, does a fabulous job keeping our library updated and organized. All classes have a scheduled time each week to exchange books. As Thickwood Heights subscribes to the Accelerated Reading program for students in grades 2 - 6, we encourage students to sign out at least one book in their reading range to take a comprehension test on. Students can check out the Accelerated Reader wall to see how they are progressing with their daily reading points. The library is set up so that students and Educational Assistants can use the space as a quiet working space throughout the day. Our library is in transition to becoming a Learning Commons area where students will be encouraged to collaborate and experiment with different learning methods and techniques. We love our library at Thickwood Heights!
